Centre des Dames Mourides , CDM
“Mouride” means “One who aspires“.
The CDM is an organization whose members are women who aspire to a better society.
Founded in 1992, registered with the Registrar of Associations in 1993 (No. 4100) and accredited to the National Corporate Social Responsibility Committee in 2009 (N/1032), the CDM is a non-governmental and non-profit organization which promotes women’s empowerment and children’s development without discrimination.
CDM is affiliated at National Level:
> Mauritius Council of Social Service (MACOSS)
> Mauritius Alliance of Women (MAW)
> National Children Council (NAC)
> Municipality of Vacoas-Phoenix (MVP)
And at International Level:
> African Women Development and Communication Network (FEMNET)
CDM has a Consultative Status with the Economic and Social Council of the United Nations (ECOSOC/UN) and CDM was one of the two organizations elected to represent the Civil Society of Mauritius at the ECOSOC/UN’s Permanent General Assembly for the period 2008-2012.
